Angler satisfaction also shapes preferences for regulations, compliance with rules general angler behaviours. Because of its central role in fisheries management, important to understand what drives satisfaction. Our objective was study catch non-catch-related determinants using standardized literature search synthesizing meta-analytical techniques. After identifying screening 279 papers, we obtained K = 172 effect sizes extracted N 23 studies met our inclusion criteria. A three-level random-effects model on Pearson's R, derived relating component overall assuming sum-of-satisfaction model, fitted. The aggregated revealed catch-related (i.e. rate, size caught fish, fish harvest) two components access fishing sites crowding) were most related Other non-catch (e.g. environmental quality, facilities, perception relaxation quality) contributed but less importance, more variable across some cases not significant perceived water quality social experience). We conclude changes sites, crowding reduction qualities, will many produce dissatisfied anglers. In absence local studies, focusing attention these can be recommended if aim satisfy or avoid managerial issues emerge
